As a licensed private pilot I used to fly all over the South; now I prefer to fly radio controlled model aircraft. I've built several -- and crashed my share -- but eventually gained enough experience to have been named Field Marshall at my local R/C airfield in Florida. I build and fly my own aircraft when I'm not helping others. I'm constantly building and testing new 'planes (and rebuilding those which don't survive the tests . . .) and would love to hear of your own R/C experiences.
I originally learned to operate a computer to save on the cost of correction ribbon, starting out on a floppy-disk-only 4-color PC-compatible. I added a hard disk to that computer, and soon after that a modem to permit me to work on a collaborative project on line. From there I progressed through several stages to my current system, which also reflects a good deal of my handiwork.
I've worked in a few restaurants, and retained a love for preparing - and enjoying! - fine food. I'm partial to the cooking of the American South and Southwest, but have a reputation for good oriental cooking as well.
